Master Sensei Toru Takamizawa Toru was the quite man of Karate in the United Kingdom. He came to Britain in the 1960's along with a number of senior Japanese Karate Instructors. Toru taught many of the current senior Karateka in this country. Much of this training was conducted at the legendary Temple Karate Centre in Digbeth in Birmingham. Sensei Qamar Bhatti was fortunate to receive training from Master Sensei Toru Takamizawa right from being a mere 8th Kyu Yellow Belt in the 1980's. He studied under the watchful eye of this great Karate Master learning the physical methods and progressing through the grades. In addition to this Sensei Qamar Bhatti further learn the spirit behind the form and also the essance of Kata from Toru Takamizawa. Toru later dispanded the Tera Karate Kai and moved to Devon where he established a series of Karate clubs. Toru is no longer with us but he has left behind a legacy of teaching, instruction and guidance that will never be forgotten. |  |
